The inaugural SCIENCE WORLD FAIR will be held at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis from Friday, June 7th to Sunday, June 9th. Competitors will compete for the title of SCIENCE WORLD CHAMPION and sneak a peek at the future of academic competition!
Each buzzer round of the SCIENCE WORLD FAIR will make use of the pyramidal platform, a new, global quizzing platform that allows players to quiz anywhere in the world! More details about the pyramidal platform will be revealed at the SCIENCE WORLD FAIR.
The 2019 SCIENCE WORLD FAIR will be held at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, GA (265 Peachtree Center Avenue Northeast). A room block has been secured at the Marriott. SCIENCE WORLD FAIR competitors are strongly encouraged to stay at the host hotel. Rooms can be booked HERE.
The inaugural SCIENCE WORLD FAIR will see the world’s most impressive science competitors go head to head! Each competitor will only compete against students in their same grade divisions in the Preliminary Rounds.
ALL COMPETITORS in all grades at the 2019 Science World Fair will compete in the SCIENCE GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP from 1PM to 4PM. As competitors in grades 4 through 9 fall out of, or win, their respective WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP rounds, they will ascend to the GRAND ARENA, where the top 5 competitors always advance, until ultimately one competitor is named SCIENCE GRAND CHAMPION! Competitors in grades 10 through 12 will receive instructions for their scheduled berths at Check-In.
All competitors must check-in on the International Level of the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. Competitors in all grades can check-in on Friday, June 7th from 9AM to 8PM. Competitors in grades 8 through 12 may check-in on Saturday morning from 9AM to 12PM. Each competitor will receive the SCIENCE WORLD FAIR program, name badge, and their individual schedule. Each grade division’s awards will be presented immediately following their final championship round – there is no separate awards ceremony.
A series of scientists and science professionals will be speaking on various science-related topics on Saturday, June 8th from 9AM to noon. There is no fee to attend and all are welcome!
Additionally, some of the 2019 SCIENCE WORLD FAIR competitors may be asked to partake in a recorded, on-camera interview – nobody should feel obligated to participate, but those who do will be asked to complete a media release form.
The rules of the 2019 SCIENCE WORLD FAIR buzzer rounds will be nearly identical to the qualifiers – with some exceptions. All rules and expectations will be outlined in each competitor’s program, as well as at the group’s opening meeting. Any and all spectators, chaperones, family, and friends are welcome!

Over the weekend of the 2019 SCIENCE WORLD FAIR, competitors of all ages can participate in two additional contests – the MATH CHAMPIONSHIP and CHAMPION HEALER. The Math Championship consists of a mathematics multiple choice test on Saturday morning, immediately after which the top-scoring participants will compete in a Final Buzzer Round of math questions. CHAMPION HEALER participants complete a 25-question quiz, accompanied by a short essay, both centered around the pre-announced topic. Participants can complete the quiz and essay any time between 9AM and 3PM, with those who make a passing grade named a CHAMPION HEALER and the best essay being read prior to the Championship Rounds.
